WALLINGFORD - Ruth F. Sustik, 93, of Wallingford, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Masonicare of Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of the late Fred Sustik.

Born in Essington, Pa., March 7, 1920, a daughter of the late William R. and Anne Boyd Fullerton, she and her husband raised their family in Chicago, Ill., before she moved to Connecticut in the early 1970's. She received her business degree from Temple University and was employed as a bookkeeper for the Central Connecticut Credit Bureau until her retirement several years ago. In her retirement years, she loved baseball, gardening, and caring for her dogs, who were her faithful companions. She was a wonderful mother to her children and a caring "Teddy Gram" to her grandchildren. She also loved her "adopted" daughter and home care companion Anna Vazquez.
She is survived by her daughters, Anne Sustik, of Springfield, Ill., Joan Huntley, and her husband, John, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Karen and Christopher Ohlmann and her husband, Christopher, of Wallingford; her grandchildren, Benjamin Huntley, M.D., of Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth Huntley, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Liam Ohlmann, of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, William Sustik; her sister, Anne Fullerton McGee, and her brother, William Fullerton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ruth's Life on Tuesday, July 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the Masonic Home Chapel, 22 Masonic Ave., Wallingford. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford.
