Gibson, John  
John Lawrence Gibson Beaver, Utah John Lawrence Gibson, age 68, passed away on May 14, 2015 in Henderson, Nevada. He was born on January 6, 1947 in Midvale, Utah to Dallas and Juanita McGill Gibson. He graduated from Bingham High School and served our country with one tour in Vietnam in the Army. He married Kathy Preslar on September 4, 1982 in West Valley, Utah. They were later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple. John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in an ASL Branch Presidency, and as an Elder's Quorum President. John raised pigeons, collected coins and loved his furry friends. He gave the best bear hugs, loved the Utah Jazz, Disneyland, eating at Maria's cocina in Beaver, smiling, listening, and always told a good joke, he was just the BEST. John is survived by his wife Kathy of Henderson, Nevada. His children; Ralph (Jill) Pulsifer of Shelton, WA, Jeanmarie Sears of Herriman, UT, 'big' Matthew (Susan) Gibson of Memphis, TN, Rachel (Lawrence) Twitchell of Cedar City, UT, Kenna (Matthew) LeFevre of Cedar City, UT, April (Lance) White of Beaver, UT, Delphi Gibson of Santaquin, UT, Sarah (Cory) Bishop of Beaver, UT, Mark (Emily) Gibson of Cedar City, UT, and 'little' Matthew Gibson of Montrose, CO along with 29 wonderful grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Dallas and Juanita Gibson, a brother Andy Dallas Gibson, a son Kevin Gibson and granddaughter Hope Gibson. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Mountain View Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to the graveside service on May 20, 2015 from 11:30-12:30 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary in Beaver, Utah. Gifford, Dean  
Dean Dalton Gifford St. George, Utah Dean Dalton Gifford, age 61, passed away on May 15, 2015, after valiantly enduring cancer for many years. Dean was born on January 16, 1954 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Gerald and Aleath Gifford. He grew up in Southern Utah and graduated in 1972 from Dixie High, where he was involved in many clubs and activities and was the captain of the football and wrestling teams. It was there that he met his future wife and eternal companion, Debra Allred Gifford. They were later married in the Manti temple on Sept. 18, 1975, after Dean served an LDS mission in Bolivia. When Dean returned home from his mission, he earned a business degree from Southern Utah University, married Debra, and raised his three sons: Russell (Marsha Terry), Brett (Jenny Terry), and Alex (Rochelle Terry) Gifford. Dean loved athletics. He was also passionate about his music: singing, playing instruments, and entertaining others. He loved playing in the Gifford family band with his parents and sisters. He found great joy in serving others. He loved gardening and gave away much produce to neighbors, friends, and family. He was an active member of the LDS church all of his life, serving cheerfully in many capacities. He was an example of the power of faith, and the power of kindness. His siblings include: Jeri Lawrence, JoAnne Tiedt, Darwin Gifford, and Joyce Spencer. He was a loving Grandpa of 10 grandchildren: Kesley, Bridger, Corben, Makayla, Kaitlyn, Brielle, Kylie, Daxton, Tyler and Zoe. Dean will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. Services to honor Dean include a viewing on Thursday evening, May 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Sunset Stake Center, 100 North Dixie Drive. There will also be a viewing Friday morning, May 22, at 10:00 AM at the same location. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery immediately following the funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of McMillan Mortuary 435-688-8880.
