Allan Lister passed away peacefully on March 11, 2014. He was born November 2, 1947 to John R. and Annabelle Parkinson Lister in Cedar City, Utah. He married the love of his life, Dixie Cannon Lister on March 31, 1967 in the St. George LDS Temple. He graduated from Parowan High School in 1966. Allan worked at O.M. Porter/Rocky Mountain Company for 30 years, and also at the Washington County School District for 10 years.

Allan enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also loved woodworking, gardening, and doing genealogy. Allan was able to find relatives near and far and enjoyed hearing their story. He loved working with the scouts. His most favorite calling was working in the nursery.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dixie of Washington City; and his six wonderful children: Cody (Terrie) Lister, Becky (Darren) Jones, Stacy Lister, Wendy (Jarred) Adams, Dusty (Lindsi) Lister and Clay (Teshua) Lister. He has 21 grandchildren & three great-grandchildren. Allan has five brothers: John, Larry, Ken, Ralph, and Kay.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington LDS 4th Ward (Main Street) Chapel, 82 North Main Street, Washington, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Friday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m to 10:45 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will be at the Paragonah, Utah Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221.
