Anella Rae Lytle Hardwick


Anella Rae Lytle Hardwick, age 94, passed away on June 2, 2014, in Bountiful, Utah. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Anella was born December 8, 1919, in Enterprise, Utah, the youngest child of Arthur Eugene Lytle and Julia Ellen Peterson Lytle. She was raised in Enterprise, and later attended Ventura City College in Ventura, CA. She was married to Charles C. Barnes, later divorced. In 1942, she married Glen O. Hardwick. That marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in 1979. Anella was the mother of four. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, enjoying many callings through the years. She worked in sales, postal service, and the school lunch program. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts for many of the family. She and her family lived in several states and enjoyed the cultural experience that resulted in her husband's job transfers. She retired to live in Mt. Pleasant, UT, later moving to St. George and then to Fruit Heights, UT to live with family.

Anella is survived by three children: Earl (Colleen) Hardwick, Salt Lake City, Leith (K.N.) Hallows, Fruit Heights, UT and Lola (John) Long, Ojai, CA; daughter-in-law, Pamela Hardwick, Yuba City, CA; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; son, Charles; granddaughter, Kari Hardwick; and grandson, Donald Wymer.
