Brett David McElyea
Brett David McElyea, age 45, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 in St. George, Utah. He was born March 24, 1968 in Ogden, Utah to Barton David McElyea and Karen Henderson Bruin. He married HoneyDawn Laws on October 12, 2002 in Santa Clara, Utah. He was previously married to Janece Gardner and Kim Zeidler.
Brett was raised in Riverdale, Utah and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. He worked for Foot Locker in Montana and California. Brett moved to St. George, where he started Finishing Touch Carpentry and Wing Nutz. He was an avid golfer and a diehard Denver Broncos fan.
Brett is survived by his wife, HoneyDawn; daughters, Janessa and Hadlee; son, Austin; father, Bart (Crystal) McElyea of St. George, UT; mother, Karen (Monte) Bruin of Riverdale, UT; brother, Todd (Kristi) McElyea of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Dana (Justin) Woodland of North Ogden, UT; mother and father-in-law, Marilyn and Jerry Carroll of American Fork, UT; and father-in-law, Leon Laws of Provo Canyon, UT; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Valley Stake Center, 1762 S. River Road. Friends may call Friday, December 6 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., and also on Saturday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. prior to the services, held at the Stake Center. Interment will take place at the Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 S. Dixie Dr., St. George, UT.
