Cathryn Roundy Headman
St.George, Utah - Cate Roundy,70, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14th, 2013 at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George Utah due to complications associated with Breast Cancer
. She was born on February 28th, 1943 in Salt Lake City Utah to Wanda Crosby and Hyrum Lorenzo Roundy. She married Lynn Headman. They were married in St. George, Utah in June 2005. She was previously married to Stephen Michael Weidner.
Cate was raised in Kanab, Utah and lived all over Southern Utah most of her life. She graduated from Kanab High School in 1961 and earned her Bachelors Degree from Southern Utah University in 1990. She achieved a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah while raising 5 children single-handedly.
Cate's interests were varied and diverse. She enjoyed and excelled at painting, writing, public speaking, dancing, singing, and academics. The most important thing to her in her life was the pursuit of what was really and deeply true. She was a pillar of strength, knowledge, and independence. Her beauty belied her intelligence and wit. As a Therapist with 20 plus years of experience, she was the trusted confidant of and healing balm to many a wounded soul.
Cate is survived by her husband, Lynn Headman. She is also survived by her five daughters Wendy Bjerke (Russell Bjerke) of Gilbert Arizona, Jennifer Hinton (Kyle Hinton) of Cedar City Utah, Becki Bronson (Adam Bronson) of Cedar City Utah, Jessica Kennedy (Samuel Kennedy) of Henderson Nevada, and Casey Weidner of Chicago Illinois. She has 12 grandchildren and is survived by her brother Paul Roundy of Kanab Utah, and sister, Sharon Turner of Kanab Utah as well as her Step Father, Paul Jenkins.
A Memorial Service in her honor will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November, 23rd at the Riverside Branch Chapel in St. George Utah (2434 East Riverside Dr, St.George Utah 84790).
