DuRell Garth Covington Jr. Beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at home surrounded by his family on February 15, 2013. He was born January 12, 1940 in St. George, Utah to DuRell Garth Covington Sr. and Marzell Leany Covington.

He married Alaine Robb the love of his life on June 19, 1959 in the St. George LDS temple. He was the beloved father of five children: DuRell Garth Covington III (Becky), ChloeAnn Covington, Andria Romberger (Vance), Robert Covington (Heidi), and Mark Covington (Keisha). He was a proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 2 great grandchildren on the way.

DuRell was a painting contractor and worked for the LDS Church as a custodian for over 30 years. He loved to spend time hunting, camping, and fishing with his family. He loved to cut out wooden animals for the grandchildren and neighbor children. He loved scouting and spent many years working in the scouting programs. He especially loved to participate in the woodbadge program.

The patriarch of his family, DuRell will always be remembered for his strong testimony and his dedicated service to the gospel. He was a great example and blessing to his family and those privileged to know him.

He is preceded in death by his wife Alaine Robb, father DuRell Garth Covington Sr, mother Marzell Leany Covington, brother Kerry Covington, and sister Geneal Covington Palmer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Cedar 15th Ward (500 W 400 N). Visitations will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 5-7:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W) in Cedar City, Utah and Friday, February 22, 2013 from 10-11:00 am at the church.
