Enid Ence Noorlander
Enid Ence Noorlander passed away at 91 on March 1, 2013. She was born in Hurricane, Utah on June 20, 1921 to Ira Hinton and Emma Webb Bradshaw along with her twin sister, Elaine. She graduated from Hurricane High School and then attended Dixie College. She married Floyd Gubler Ence on October 30, 1941, and they had five children. They lived in Ivins, Utah and later in Santa Clara where she loved caring for her home, yard and garden. She later married Daniel Noorlander and after he passed away, married Bill Young.
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as brothers, Ray and Hal, and sisters, Elaine and Gwynn, and grandson Charron Ence. She is survived by her brother Ira, children, Elaine Winget, Clark (Kathy) Ence, Rodney (Tammy) Ence, Marilyn (Wade) Roberts, and Kelly (Becky) Ence, her daughter-in-law Sandy Ence, 19 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Enid was a light in the life of her family and all those she encountered. Music was a large part of her life; she sang like an angel. She spent her life in hard work and service. She was an active, dedicated member of the LDS Church and served in many callings including working in the temple. She truly "endured to the end" even amidst much adversity.
She will be remembered by the residents of Santa Clara for walking and whistling early in the morning through the length of the city. She exemplified a Christ-like life; her memory will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. She will be missed but will live on in our hearts. One of her grandsons stated, "Heaven just signed a new All-Star to their roster."
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Santa Clara Valley Chapel on Santa Clara Dr. at 2 PM. Viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM at the Spilsbury Mortuary in St. George and from 12:30-1:30 PM on Saturday at the Chapel. Interment will take place in the Santa Clara Cemetery.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the Horizon Hospice Specialists, with special thanks to Heather Holt, as well as Elderberrycare and Dave and Mindy Stucki where she spent her last weeks.
