George Berry Fry
George Berry Fry 88 passed away February 14, 2013 at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden Utah. He was born April 16, 1924 in Chinle, Arizona, to Os Berry and Leah Stevens Fry.
He married Lois Gardner March 17, 1945 in St. George Utah and they were later sealed in the St. George Temple. They had 4 daughters.
George proudly served his country during WWII
as part of the Army Air Corp. He was later recalled into the service in the Korean War
. He received many honors during his service.
He returned to finish his education in Forestry, first at Dixie College, then Utah State University. His career with the Forest Service took his family to many small towns in the intermountain west, He finished his career as a Fire-Timber Staff Officer in Cedar City, Utah.
Upon retirement he and Lois returned to St. George and their beloved Pine Valley, where they enjoyed reacquainting with old friends. Over his lifetime he gave countless hours in church and community service, endearing him to many.
He is survived by his wife Lois and his daughters, Barbara (Max) McDonald, Shirley (Dan) Cress, Carol (Brent) Snow, Janet (Doug) Taysom. 15 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff Street. St. George, UT Wednesday February 20, 2013 9:30-10:30 AM with funeral services to follow at11:00. Interment will be in the Pine Valley Cemetery.
