Shellbi Millett Stika
June 6, 2014
Our childhood would not have been the same without the Haycocks next door. Where Hillman would yell for us to keep off the lawn and to not touch his fence, Irma would tell us it was just fine if we would just take off our shoes and to do it as long as he wasn't looking. She never once knocked on our door, but burst in unannounced full of chatter and love. Though none of her children lived nearby, she seemed to take us in as if we were hers. We always chose our country reports to be about Honduras because we knew Irma would share all she could from Honduras. I even remember being invited over to string popcorn for her Christmas Trees. The Millett family loved Irma, and Apple Blossom Lane has never been the same since the Haycocks left. Thoughts and prayers go out to all of you-the boys and their families that she was so proud of!
