Loa Hare

Loa Ann Cook Hare

St. George

Loa Ann Cook Hare joined her eternal sweetheart May 27, 2014, Leroy Hare Sr., who preceded her in death December 24, 2001. They were married September 21, 1950 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple, enjoying 51 years together. They have 7 children, 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She served in 3 LDS Temples and 2 full-time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and many positions of service for her church. Her family, fellowmen and God always came first.

She was an outstanding and well-loved educator, teaching over 50 years. She shared her beautiful singing voice and musical talents most of her life, was a favorite duet performer with her husband and sang around the world with the Southern Utah Heritage Choir for many years, just recently retiring at age 81. She was a fourth generation Daughter of the Utah Pioneers, a member for many decades, having just recently been honored by the organization she loved and served. She fulfilled her dreams to travel and visited every continent and many major historical sites. She loved all people and endeared herself easily with her genuine interest and loving personality. She was easily the "favorite" of so many.

She was born to Delmoe and Lulu May Munns Cook in Archer, Idaho, on April 26, 1933 and blessed with 10 siblings and survived by 3. She is survived by most of her sons and daughters, grand and great-grandchildren. She was a beloved blessing to many all of her life. We rejoice in her life on Earth and in Heaven. Her children are Leanne & Kevin Knudsen, Joyce & Marv Whitaker, LeRoy Hare Jr. - deceased, Paul & Kathy Hare, Dean & Ann Hare, Lois Hare-deceased and Anita & Leland Christensen. Surviving siblings are Grace McOmber, Colleen & Howard Biddulph, and Bill & Elvia Cook.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., with a gathering at 2:00 p.m., at the LDS Bloomington Hills Stake Center, 1130 East Brigham Road, St. George, Utah.
