Mark Rowley, 56, of Cedar City, Utah, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 from injuries sustained in a local mining accident. He was the son of the former John S. Rowley and Josephine Williams Rowley, long-time residents of Cedar City.
Mark was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 11, 1957. The family then moved back to Cedar City where Mark attended public schools and graduated from Cedar City High School in 1975. He graduated from Southern Utah State College in Cedar City in 1983.
Mark married Stacy Taylor in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 14, 1994. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family. He and his four boys loved camping, fishing, hunting, riding four-wheelers and motorcycles together.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy, of 20 years and his four sons, Taylor, Ryan, Matthew, and Dylan as well as his mother, Josephine Rowley of Cedar City, and siblings Dennis (Linda) of SLC, Denice Wilcox (Larry) of SLC, Kevin (Bonnie) of Beaver Dam, AZ and Lisa of SLC. Mark was preceded in death by his father, John S. Rowley, sister Kristine Leigh and Niece Brittney Gene Rowley.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Cedar LDS Stake Center (155 East 400 South, Cedar City, UT). Viewings will be on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 North 300 West, Cedar City, UT) and on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 12:00-1:30 pm at the Cedar LDS Stake Center (155 East 400 South, Cedar City, UT).
