Milton Robertson(1926 - 2012)

Milton A. Robertson, 86 years old, passed away December 31, 2012 in St. George, Utah. He was born on November 16, 1926 in Midvale, Utah to Alvis Mayberry Robertson and Ella Ruth Rindlisbacher Robertson. He married Delores Louise Anderson on August 16, 1950 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple on January 14, 1965.

Milton and Delores moved to La Verkin, Utah and later to Virgin, Utah in 1967 with their family where Milton served as a Ward Clerk and later a Young Men's Calling in the LDS Church. Milton honorably served our county in both the Korean and World War II with the US Navy. Milton worked for 20 years at Kennecott Copper, and for 14 years at Dixie College doing grounds work and attending the heating and cooling plant until he suffered a stroke. He also worked at Hawthorn, Bassman, Pace American and did custodial work when the Virgin LDS chapel was built. Milton was a talented artist and loved to sketch and paint horses and wildlife. He won numerous ribbons at the Salt Lake and Washington County Fairs for his artwork. He painted many pictures for his children that they proudly display in their homes.

After Milton suffered a stroke and could no longer be in his home, he became a resident at the Kindred Care Center in St. George, where he made many special friends and received wonderful care. He called all of the nurses his special pretty ladies because he could not remember everyone's names.

Milton is survived by his wife of 62 years, Delores; 11 children: Kayla (Clark) Hutchings; Milton (Debbie) Robertson, Jr., Winnemucca, NV; Chuck (Betty) Robertson, Hurricane, UT; Ronald (Teena) Robertson, La Verkin, UT; Cindy Robertson, St. George, UT; Robynn (Kim) VanderVaart, Kearns, UT; Alvis (Penny) Robertson, Santa Clara, UT; David Robertson, St. George, UT; Trudy (Geno) Bennett, St. George, UT; Mark (Lisa) Robertson, Winnemucca, NV; Kirtis (Elaine) Robertson, Washington UT; 44 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Kim Robertson; his parents; brother, Douglas Robertson; sister, Betty Jean Spencer and a great-grandson, Kaleb Williams.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. George 5th Ward Chapel, 85 South 400 East, St. George, UT. Visitations will be held on Friday, January 4 from 6 p.m. to 8p.m. in the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT and on Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel, prior to services.

Interment will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George, UT.
