Robert French

Robert J. French II

Cedar City, Utah

Robert Jesse French II, Pastor of Mountain- view Baptist Church, peacefully lost his long and brave battle with cancer May 22, 2013. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Robert J. and Mary I. French June 6, 1953 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He married Patricia Jo Engle September 22, 1973.

Pastor French was a servant to all who knew him. There was never a time that someone needed something from Pastor when he wasn't there to help. He will be greatly missed until we meet him again in heaven. His body passed but his spirit, memories, and strength will live on through all who had a chance to meet him.

His life was God, family, church. He lived the example of Jesus first, others, then self. He had such passion for people to know the Savior. He was such a strong example of faith for his family and all who knew him. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, attaining rate MM 1st Class. He will be greatly missed by his family, especially his beautiful, loving wife, daughters and his grandchildren. He lived a long, full life. He had a contagious smile that lit up a room. As much as he put into being a Pastor, a Dad, and a Grandpa, he made sure to take time to play.

Robert is survived by his wife; his children Tobi Jo Hancock (Preston) of Mesa, AZ; Jamie Lee East of Cedar City, UT; Amanda Jean Dominguez (Eddy) of Cedar City, UT; Sara Danielle Dornan of Cedar City, UT; his father Robert J. French of Bradner, OH; brother Kevin L. French (Anne) of Roswell, GA; sisters Kathleen Waelde (Larry) of Livermore, CA; Valerie Culpepper (Steve) of New Lennox, IL; Wendy C. Laycock (Dennis) of Phoenix, AZ; and ten grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary I. French.
