John Crum Obituary

John Ellis Crum

St. George

We are sad to announce the passing on December 23, 2012, of JOHN ELLIS CRUM (known to old friends as "Buck") following a long battle with congestive heart failure. He was born on March 1, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio. A graduate of Ohio State University, he was a paratrooper with the 82nd and the 101st Army Airborne and an Army pilot. After discharge, he joined Delta Airlines as a pilot and, for the next 33 years, flew domestic and international routes. He traveled all over the world enjoying early extreme sports including skydiving, deep water diving, mountain climbing in Africa, skiing and blue water sailing.

He leaves behind a beautiful and much cherished family: his wife of 41 years, Judith; his son, Scott and his wife Wendy and grand-daughters Brittany, Taylor and Caly; his son, Eric and his wife Chelsea, and grandchildren Lily and Evan; his daughter, Karen (Cricket) Donkin and her husband, Conrad and grand-daughters Mekayla and Zoey.

His ashes will be scattered in the mountains of Park City, UT. A party to celebrate his extraordinary life is planned in St. George, UT on March 2, 2013.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
