Bonita W. Card finished her mortal journey on November 8, 2013 at her home in St. George, Utah where she and her husband lived for nearly ten years. She was second born of eight children and was raised in Highland, Utah by her parents, Kenneth and Lucia.
As a youth, she loved adventure - hiking, swimming, writing, reading and the outdoors. She attended BYU. She married Aaron Card in 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised a large family mostly in Pleasant Grove, Utah - 11 children by birth, 12 by adoption, and 24 others who lived under their roof at times. Aaron and Bonita now have 70 grandchildren and 79 great-grandchildren. They received several special recognitions for their parenting efforts including 1983 Utah's Family of the Year, 1988 Utah Citizens of the Year, and 1993 Mom USA.
She and her husband served several missions for the LDS Church. She earned the venerable Golden Gleaner Award and served in many church and civic capacities. Her life has been a challenging and joyous labor of love.
Memorial services for Aaron, who preceded her in September, and Bonita Card will be held in Pleasant Grove, Utah on November 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 700 East 500 North.
