Carlos "Carl" Garth Hutchings

Leeds, Utah

Carlos Garth Hutchings, age 80, passed away May 14, 2013. Carl was born December 10, 1932 in Spanish Fork, Utah, a son of Shepherd Birgus Hutchings and Ellen Olive Johnson.

The family he was born into was a tight-knit group of 4 brothers and 3 sisters: Alberta (Jack), Velma (Derwin), Verl (Colleen), Clifton (Buelah), Jack (Juanita); Robert (Mary Lou); Barbara (Gordon).

They had many memorable times together throughout their lives.

Carl will not be forgotten as a veteran of the Korean War.

He was fortunate to have been married to two women, Anna Lou Smith and Kay Frandsen; though not at the same time! Steve (Zahandra), Virginia, Curt (Cheryl) and Mat (Stacey) were born to Carl and Anna Lou.

Carl was an owner of several small businesses and by hard work and perseverance was successful at whatever he did.

Personal interests of Carl's were many and varied including; restoring antique cars, landscape painting, music, (he was a member of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. for many years), proving that real men sing.

He is survived by his wife: Kay, his children: Steve, Virginia, Curt, Mat, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and sister Barbara Cambridge.

He is preceded in death by brothers Verl, Clifton "Cliff", Jack and Robert "Bob", and sisters Alberta "Birdie" and Velma.

"Rugged Individual" doesn't even begin to describe our dad.

A graveside service will be held Saturday May 18, 2013 at 11:00 am at Leeds Cemetery Utah.
