Dranoel Pope Dalton
The Guest Book is expired.
Dranoel Pope Dalton was born on May 20, 1925, the only son of Edwin and Margie Pope Dalton. Growing up as a boy during the Great Depression, frugality and hard work became a value system that spanned his lifetime. Numerous back surgeries and extended stays in the hospital instilled in him a determination to overcome any obstacle, and a love of life that few could rival.
His youth was spent in Harrisburg helping his father on the farm, where his two boyhood homes are still standing.
He married his sweetheart Dola Bringhurst on August 1, 1947, in the St. George Temple; they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Three children were added to their family Keith, Toni and Debra.
He began his life's profession at the age of 15, eventually starting a business of his own. "Buds Plumbing" became a family business where he, his wife and his son worked together, side by side.
His life was filled with hard work, love and laughter. He loved square dancing, snowmobiling and traveling with family and friends. His passion in life, outside of his family, was a love of cars and landscaping. His yards were truly a work of art that extended from his home to his cabins in Pine Valley and Kolob Mountain.
Bud is survived by his wife, Dola Dalton; his children, Keith (Norma) Dalton, Toni (Ed) Bowler, and Debra King; 10 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Dixie Home Rehab and Hospice and especially to Jennifer Harrington and Kathy Swenson.
