Lynn Iver Jensen

Parowan

Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Lynn Iver Jensen, was reunited with his wife and family on November 1, 2013. Lynn passed away in the St. George hospital surrounded by his family after a short illness. He was born on May 9, 1931 in Leota, Utah to Oscar and Erma Rose Jorgensen Jensen. He married Beverly Alfstead; they were later divorced. He then married Reta Renee Rowley on August 19, 1963 in Parowan, Utah. Later it was solemnized in the St. George Temple on February 5, 2005.

He served in the Korean War. He worked for Safeway making ice cream for 34 years. He retired to Parowan, Utah. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a home teacher. He loved people and they loved him.

He is survived by four children: Lynnette Joanne Jensen of St. George, UT, Jeffery Lynn (Jill) Jensen of Sandy, UT, Pamela Jo (Robert) Smith of Cedar City, UT and Ronald Cary (Krista) Jensen of Cedar City, UT; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Alma Jensen and Elden Jensen; 2 sisters: Mildred Thomas and Martha Henrie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reta Renee Rowley, his parents, 2 brothers: James R. Jensen and. Donald Oscar Jensen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 a. at the Parowan 1st Ward Chapel. Friends and family my visit on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Parowan 1st Ward. Interment will be in the Parowan Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to www.sumortuary.com.
