Ronnow Little Bunting, age 86, passed away August 24, 2013. He was born on May 27, 1927 in Kanab, Utah to Preston & Clara Little Bunting. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He married Mary Lou Haycock, (his best friend and sweetheart), on July 26, 1957, and was later sealed in the St. George Temple on May 15, 1987.
Ron spent his life as a rancher and farmer in Southern Utah, overseeing the cattle and farms as a part of the Preston Bunting and Sons Corp. He spent many days out on the East Clark Bench making sure the "cows and fields" were all in shape. He preferred to be out in the country with the animals, and let his two brothers Jim and George run the Bunting Market in town.
Ron was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfilled many callings. He was famous for his vegetable garden, and shared its bounty with many friends and neighbors. He was a friend to everyone and was known for his gentle and generous heart. His last years were spent caring for and being taken care of by his devoted wife Mary Lou. He will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren for his sense of humor and loving manner.
Ron is survived by his wife Mary Lou; his three children Brett R. (Angie) Bunting of Kanab, Brigett (Russ) Johnson of Delta, and Cydni (Christopher) Strang of Afton, Wyoming; brothers Jim Bunting and George (Sherran) Bunting both of Kanab; sister Addie Lou Vaughn of Kanab; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Arlene Lanphere, and grandsons Jeremy & Chase Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Kanab Utah Stake Center. Viewings will be held Friday evening from 7:00-8:00 PM at the Stake Center and Saturday morning from 10:00-10:45 AM at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery. Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.
