Wanetta Jean Hardy Hayes
The Guest Book is expired.
Wanetta Jean Hardy Hayes passed away quietly on September 28, 2013. Born and raised in St. George, she was the last of seven children born to Sarah Agnes and George Gile Hardy.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life, she loved the gospel with all her heart and lived it every day of her life serving for many years in the St. George Temple. She graduated from Dixie High School and attended BYU. She loved to dance, sing and act, writing several plays herself. She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and loved to give tours through the museum every chance she got.
Though she traveled and lived in many different parts of the country, her heart was always in Dixie. She loved reminiscing about her childhood days spent with her loving parents and siblings. Telling family stories of her pioneer heritage and histories of her parents and grandparents in the Mexican colonies were a favorite past time. Although she will be greatly missed by her children and all those who knew her sweet spirit, they are comforted by the knowledge that she is once more reunited with her loving parents, siblings and friends that have passed before her.
She leaves behind three children Stephenie Barson (Dan), Russell Hayes, Rachel Hayes and six grandchildren, Bronson Barson (Chelsea), Greyson Barson (Nichol), Ashley Hayes, Jacob Hayes, Ashia Hayes and Ashton Hayes.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with a viewing prior to services from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George. Interment will take place in the St. George City Cemetery.
