Elliot Joseph Stucki, age 68, passed away on February 25, 2014, in Cedar City, Utah. He was born December 29, 1945, to Shirl Leavitt and Shirley Mae Foremaster Stucki. Elliot married Catherine Cottam on July 12, 1968 in the St. George LDS Temple.
Elliot was born, raised and educated in St. George, Utah, graduating from Dixie High School class of 1963. After graduation, Elliot served an LDS mission to Sweden. He joined the Utah National Guard and served in the 222nd Field Artillery Regiment 2nd Battalion for 12 years.
Elliot was an amazing car salesman. He sold cars his entire life starting with A&P Chevrolet then Sunland Chevrolet. In 1971, Elliot and Cathy moved to Cedar City and there Elliot worked for Bradshaw Chevrolet until he retired in 1998.
Elliot was an active member of the LDS church serving as a St. George Temple Ordinance worker for 5 years. He also served with three different Stake Presidencies as the Financial Stake Clerk.
Elliot was a strong, hardworking and compassionate man. He had a great sense of humor and was very quick witted. Elliot was adventurous and truly loved nature and the outdoors. He was bigger than life, but most of all he loved Cathy and his family more than anything.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Stucki of Cedar City, UT; children, Judy (Willie) Chidester of West Jordan, UT, Shirley (Steve) Leydsman of Ivins, UT, Nancy (Scott) Kamachi of Cedar City, UT, Jeff (Courtney) of Cedar City, UT, Sandy (Jake) Hulet of Cedar City, UT, Gary Stucki of Las Vegas, NV; 22 grandchildren; and siblings, Gai (Duane) Robinson of St. George, UT, Darrel (Jan) Stucki of Santa Clara, UT, Dennis (Sharon) Stucki of Washington, UT, Sherrie (Kevin) Gardner of St. George, UT and Debbie (Terry) Cannon of St. George, UT. He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Callie Hulet; grandson, Kyler Kamachi; and sister, Janet Peterson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Equestrian Pointe Ward Chapel, 370 N 4050 W, Cedar City, UT. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and also Saturday morning prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. both held at the chapel. Interment will take place in the Cedar City Cemetery.
