Nola Ruby Griffith Borrowman

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Nola Ruby Griffith Borrowman, quietly passed away April 7, 2014 at 91 years of age. She was born on February 5, 1923 in Nampa, Idaho, the oldest child of Ira W. Griffith and Ruby Euzell Stevens.
Nola met her sweetheart, Heber Melvin Borrowman on a bus when he was a Navy sailor on his way home to Idaho. They married on March 20, 1947 in Wilder, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 15, 1947. Nola was the mother of eight children and helped to mother many foster children.
Her passion was sewing. One of her greatest joys was in making blankets for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nola was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions. She was very compassionate and loved visiting and serving women.
Nola is survived by her sisters and brothers: Verla (Glen) Rose, Dean (Donna) Griffith, Barbara Hamilton and Hal (Judy) Griffith; sons: Richard (Mary) Borrowman, Thomas (Larean) Borrowman, Steven (Kimberly) Borrowman, Jerry (Yvonne) Borrowman, Samuel (Shawna) Borrowman and Scott Borrowman; daughter, Janet (William) Howes; and son-in-law, Douglas Glidden. She has 33 grandchildren and about a million great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mel; and her daughter, Judith Ann Borrowman Glidden.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.
