Lawrence B "Buck" Chynoweth, passed away on April 14, 2014 at his home in Cedar City. Larry was born to Lawrence Arthur and Lavina Jeanette Goulding Chynoweth on March 31, 1928 in Henrieville, UT. Larry met Vera "Billie" Alvey in 1959. After dating for 5 months they were married on September 8, 1959 in Richfield, UT. Larry and Billie were blessed with 4 children: Debra Lee (Pete) Rodriguez of Cedar City, UT, Barbara (Rusty) Holcomb, of Grass Valley, CA, Lori (James) Thomson, of New Harmony, UT, Dean (Helen) Chynoweth, of Cedar City, UT. Larry and Billie's marriage was solemnized and their children sealed to them in the St. George Temple on April 23, 1966. After Billie passed away, Larry met Patricia Ann McKittpick, they were married on December 9, 2006 in Hurricane, UT. Larry served in the US Army from 1951 to 1952.
Dad loved telling stories and jokes. He also loved the outdoors, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, hunting and camping. He also enjoyed working with his hands doing crafts. His favourite was creating out of wood.
Larry is survived by his four children, 3 son-in-laws, daughter-in-law, fifteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. His three sisters: Alice Ormond of Annabelle, UT, Eva Chynoweth and Jackie Fullmer along with one brother Lane (Marlene) Chynoweth, all from Ferron, UT. One brother-in-law Delon Pollock of Manilla, UT,a very special friend Pearl Kochamp and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his wives Billie and Patty. His parents, one sister LaRee "Cindy' Pollock and one brother Arthur V. Chynoweth.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Enoch City Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 10:30-12:30 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary 190 North 300 West in Cedar City, Utah. Online condolences can be made at www.sumortuary.com.
