Eldon Laub Orton passed away February 18, 2013 in Parowan, Utah. Eldon was born to Clark Albert and Minnie Catherine Laub Orton on September 2, 1932 in Parowan, Utah.
Eldon graduated from Parowan High School and later attended the University of Utah. He served his country in the Airforce in the Korean Conflict. Throughout his life he has served in the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-Day Saints in many callings and currently a High Priest. Eldon loved fishing, camping, boating, shooting guns and being with his family.
He was married to Marilyn Tattersall for 35 years (divorced), Dorothy Peterson (deceased) and currently Mae-Marie Magnuson.
He is survived by his wife (Mae-Marie), his children Julie Marie Orton (E. Dwayne)Van of South Jordan Utah, Paula Orton (Billie) Williams of South Jordan Utah and Dayna Lynne Orton Powell of St. George Utah, as well as by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, his brothers Worth and Hal Orton and his sister Carma Orton Matthes.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Clark and Minnie), his brothers Clark L. And Reed L. Orton, his sisters Vera O. Matthes and Ola O. Robinson, his granddaughter Erica Maxine Powell and his wife (Dorothy P. Orton).
Services will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., at the Parowan 3rd and 4th Ward Chapel. Viewings will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, February 22, 2013 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at the Parowan Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to www.sumortuary.com.
