William "Bryce" Barton

William Bryce Barton passed away March 1, 2013 in Beaver, Utah. He was born to Roy Penn and Josie Edith Higgins Barton on August 26, 1925 in Greenville, Utah.

He graduated from Beaver High School and served in the Army in WWII as well as the Korean War and later in the National Guard.

He married Ellen Crawford on November 15, 1968 in Greenville, Utah and later sealed in the St. George Temple. They were blessed with six children and their spouses: Chris (Dirk) Warhurst, Brenda Bastian, Terry (Amy) Barton, Carrie (Doug) Bennett, Barbara (Jeromy) Puffer and Sam (Candyce) Barton. They have nineteen grandchildren as well as eight great-grandchildren together.

Bryce was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as a High Priest Executive Secretary and a Home Teacher. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, trapshooting, reloading and wood working.

Bryce is survived by his wife, six children, nineteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and by his brother Don Barton. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as by his brothers Gene and Ken Barton.

Services will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., at the Beaver 4th Ward (220 North Main Street). Viewings will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary in Beaver (195 North 200 West) and another viewing will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 11-12:30 p.m. at the Beaver 4th Ward. Interment will be held at the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to www.sumortuary.com.
