Anna Robinson Johnson was born October 21, 1921 to Wilford and Maude Debra (Swapp) Robinson of Kanab. She died in a peaceful sleep on March 1, 2013 at her home. She married Calvin Cutler Johnson on March 17, 1941. High School sweethearts for 72 years, they solemnized their marriage in the St. George Temple in 1964. In her younger years, Anna worked as a telephone switchboard operator with her mother and sisters. Anna and Calvin did everything together. She was a cowgirl, going with Calvin to gather cattle. She was the classic homemaker, until they took over the Center Grocery Store which had been started by Calvin's parents.
Anna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She organized and loved family gatherings. She loved people and was a friend to all, easy to talk to and trust. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel, teaching Primary for 23 years, along with other callings.
Anna was preceded in death by a son Richard "Dick", a granddaughter Cindy Ann, and four siblings Orvil, Nina, Grace and Verda. She is survived by her sister Jean, her husband Calvin, and five children: Carolyn (Van) Sawyer of Orem; Jeff (Mary) Johnson; Que (Karla) Johnson; Juli (Kent) Brinkerhoff; and Eric (Sylvia) Johnson all of Kanab. Calvin and Anna have 29 grandchildren, and 64 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Anna will be held in Kanab Utah Stake Center (downtown) on Saturday, March 9 at 11:00 A.M. with a viewing in the same location on Friday 7-8 P.M. and from 10-11 on Saturday prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Kanab Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
