Jack (John) Arthur Lindquist

St. George

Jack (John) Arthur Lindquist crossed peacefully through the veil, returning to our Father in Heaven on September 7, 2013 after bravely battling Pancreatic Cancer. He was 81. He was born October 12, 1931 to Knutt Otto Lindquist and Murial Hook Lindquist in Chicago Ill, where he was raised. He moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1976 where he resided before relocating to St. George in 1995. He married Marti (Charlene) Renee Hurd on July 24, 1988 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Having blended their families, they were blessed with 10 wonderful children. In 1996 Jack joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints allowing he and his wife to solemnize their marriage in the St. George Temple. As faithful members of the church, they served 3 missions.

Jack was a veteran of the Army and Air Nat'l Guard having dedicated 41 years to serving our country and worked with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles hockey franchise for many years. He was passionate about his health and loved to travel. He played hockey, was an avid golfer, swimmer, skier, cyclist and runner well into his 70's. He was extremely athletic and active, even until the very end. His family endearingly called him their "real life Superman". The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Zion's Way Hospice for their services during his last days. He was an amazing man of strength and unconditional love. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years and eternal companion, Marti and 9 children - Cheryl Lindquist , Mark Lindquist, Sue Lindquist, Dave (Lisa) Lindquist and Jeff (Nicole) Lindquist of Chicago Ill. Kris (Elizabeth) Lindquist, Wayne (Tawni) Marticorena, Phil (Kelly) Marticorena of Salt Lake City, Utah and Mali (Ry) Evans of Jacksonville, Fl. He has 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Kimberly Lindquist.

Jack was a full body donor so in lieu of funeral services there will be an open house celebration of his life Saturday, October 12, 2013. This would have been his 82nd birthday. It will be held from noon until 3 pm at the LDS church located at 1130 E. Brigham Rd. St. George, Ut. 84790. The family asks that loved ones send stories and memories of Jack via email to be incorporated into the celebration. You may also email requests for St. George Lodging information. jalindquist.new@gmail.com .
