James Ryan Handley

JAMES RYAN HANDLEY, 47, of Bountiful, UT, passed away March 29, 2014 at Dorthea Bay, St Thomas, US Virgin Islands in an unfortunate swimming accident.

Ryan was a proud father of three wonderful sons, Luke 19, Wyatt 16, and Cade 14 of West Bountiful. He is survived by his sisters Kristen (Handley) Knight of Frederick MD, Gennifer (Handley) Cummings of Port Orchard WA, Marshane (Handley) Holth of Milford UT, Deanna (Handley) Volk of Parowan UT, Stefany (Handley) Wright of Hurricane UT and his parents James and Kathleen Handley of Milford UT and Ruth Handley of St George UT.

He was a lifetime resident of West Bountiful, Utah. He attended Viewmont High School and graduated from Weber State University with his BSN in nursing. He loved his work as an R.N. at Lakeview hospital in ICU, ER and the Hyperbaric Unit. Ryan was also the owner/operator of Cement Works Construction Company. Ryan was also a member of the Utah Air National Guard, where he served proudly.

Ryan was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He loved life and had a signature smile that could light up a room. He was an avid outdoorsman and adventurer. He was a Waterfowl devotee, a fisherman, hunter, horseman, retired bronc rider and unbelievably talented mechanic. He was known by the family quote: "Uncle Ryan can do it. He can do anything".

We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many family, friends and acquaintances whose concerns and condolences have been a heartwarming blessing to the entire family.
