Sharry Buhanan-Decker was born 11 August 1986, in St George, Utah to Karl Ray and Sharroll Lyons Buhanan. Sharry passed away 16 June 2016, in Salt Lake City, Utah giving birth to her first child, James Francis (JJ) Buhanan-Decker. Sharry married the great love of her life Jared Charles Buhanan-Decker on 28 December 2006 in St George. Jared is the son of Ross and Mary Decker. Sharry also loved their cat Lola.

Sharry's childhood years were spent in Santa Clara Utah where she made lifelong friends. She was the youngest of seven: five brothers, Scott, David, Kurt, Mark and Brad--one sister, Lisa.

She graduated from Snow Canyon High School in 2004. Sharry and Jared continued school together, graduating from SUU with a B.A. and continued at the University of Utah to receive a Masters in Public Administration specializing in Non-Profit Organization.

Sharry loved life and had many talents and interests to explore. As a little girl she loved painting, pottery, reading, but party planning was her favorite activity. She always made homemade confetti for her brothers and friends. As Sharry grew her love for the arts continued to grow. She learned to love the guitar, rock concerts, and creating. Sharry loved being an aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Sharry spent a good amount of time with those that others looked past. She had a great compassion for those with disabilities. Working for a special needs preschool as well as high school students with disabilities. She was so loving and kind that they loved her in return. She loved animals. She worked for a non-profit that uses comfort animals to assistant in hospitals.

After Sharry met Jared, she had a partner for all of her unique ideas. An adventurer she was, but a thrill seeker she was not. Although she was afraid of heights, she loved the views from them. They hiked in Hawaii, back packed through Europe, a humanitarian trip to Mexico, taught English in Korea, and many fun ideas --Jared was willing to do them all. Sharry was willing to stand up for what she felt passionate about, from the earth to the dignity of others. Sharry was driven by her heart.

Family was so important to her. She always wanted the family to be together. She would not allow a family tradition to be forgotten. She left lasting gifts for her child in the form of letters, music, and love. Sharry, Jared and JJ will be reunited again.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara LDS Chapel, 3040 Santa Clara Drive. Visitations will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again Friday morning prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., both at the chapel. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
