Norma Joyce Hardin, age 69, of Springfield, went to be with her Jesus on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 6:15 a.m. She passed away at the Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home in Lebanon, Ky. where she had been a resident for the past two years.
Joyce was born in Lebanon, Ky., on Feb. 13, 1945 to D.B. and Helen Hardin. She loved and was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church, she was a 1963 graduate of Springfield High School, attended Spencerian School in Louisville and was an employee of the former Jane & Linda Sportswear of Lebanon.
Preceding her in death was her father, D.B. Hardin, 42 years ago on March 6, 1972.
She is survived by her mother, Helen Hardin Willard; two brothers, Rick Hardin and Tim Hardin (Connie) of Springfield; a nephew, Jon Daniel Hardin (Kelli) of Springfield; two nieces, Rikki-Ann Spalding (Todd) of Lebanon, Sarah Rae Helms (Dewayne) of Louisville; one great niece, Shelby Laine Spalding and two great nephews, Adrain Miles Helms and Ethan Chase Helms.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 28 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Compton, pastor of the Springfield Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was on Cemetery Hill.
Serving as pallbearers were Terry Hill, Johnnie Byrd, Johnnie Chesser, Pete Hardin, Roger Hardin, Alton Hardin and Larry Haydon.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
