Thomas E. Peters, age 65, of the Texas Community of Washington County, passed away at 11:35 a.m., Thursday, Apr. 11, 2013 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
He was born in Marion County on June 28, 1947 to George Ernest and Evelyn Chesser Peters.
He was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and a farmer.
Preceding him in death was his father, George Ernest Peters on Aug. 10, 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Ina Lynn Peters; a son, Ernie Peters; a daughter, Starla Huddleston and her husband, Jeffrey; two grandchildren, Haley and Gavin Huddleston; his mother, Evelyn Peters; three brothers, Bill Peters and his wife, Margaret, Joe Peters and his wife, Marilyn, all of Springfield, and Albert Peters and his wife, Corine of Willisburg; and a lifelong friend, Tommy May of Perryville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Apr. 14 at the Beech Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Estes, the church pastor, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Frank Peters.
Burial was in the Beech Grove Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Sunday School Class of Beech Grove Baptist Church.
Serving as casket bearers were Todd Hardin, Kerr Allen, Ray Wilson, Rolland Lynn, Larry Lynn and Tommy Hundley.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
