Haydon, Virgie (Chesser) - Mt. Zion community  
Virgie Chesser Haydon, 83, of the Mt. Zion community of Washington County, passed away at 12:50 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015, at her home. A native of Washington County, she was born on April 14, 1932, to the late Hollie and Gladys Carrier Chesser. She was a member of the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy and a homemaker. Preceding her in death was her husband, James Delbert "Jim" Haydon on March 15, 2010, and a brother, Theodore "Skippy" Chesser on April 11, 2009. Survivors include, a son, Calvin Haydon (Katie) of Willisburg; two grandchildren, Jimmy Haydon and Mary Wise (Josh); five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett Chesser (Bonnie) of Springfield and Bobby Gene (Sue) Chesser of Willisburg and five sisters, Edith Rose Lewis, Ann Riley and Sarah Blanch Carey all of Springfield and Alene Lottis (Jimmy) and Jean Washburn of Willisburg. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m., Thursday, May 21, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Hazel, officiating. Rev. Sheena Blake will assist him. Burial will be in the Haydon Family Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Christina Haydon, Lois Haydon, Jesse Haydon and Jared Wise. Casket bearers will be Jimmy Haydon, Brian Haydon, Gerald Hood, Richie Chesser, Larry Haydon and Nathan Lewis. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday (today), May 20, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
