Amelia Jane Smith Hall, 98, of Jimtown Road, Springfield, passed away at 10:20 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at her home.
A native of Marion County, she was born on Oct. 26, 1915, to the late Clay and Beulah Garrett Smith. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was her husband, William Hugh Hall on Feb. 23, 1999; a son, Hugh Donat Hall on Dec. 11, 2007; a sister, Helen "Marie" Smothers and two brothers, Home B. Smith and James "Red" Smith.
Survivors include, two daughters, Bonnie Smith and her husband, Wayne of Campbellsville and Elaine Coyle and her husband, Johnny of Springfield; a daughter-in-law, Frances Hall of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Sherri Hodgen, Wayland Hall, David Hall, Sharron Cambron, Kelli Gutierrez, Shannon Smith, Yvonne Coyle and Jonathan Coyle; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 2, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Oldham, former pastor of the Springfield Baptist Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Justin Compton, pastor of Springfield Baptist Church and Rev. Troy Shelton, pastor of River Of Life Church.
Burial was on Cemetery Hill in Springfield.
Serving as pallbearers were Robert Thomas Hodgen, Robert Hodgen, Jeremy Yaste, Kurt Cambron, John Edward Keeling, Mike Jones and Bob Walker.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
