Austin Bradley McBride, age 16, of Fairlane Drive, Springfield, passed away at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.
He was born in Jerseyville, Ill. on Oct. 10, 1996.
He was a member of the Springfield Presbyterian Church, a junior at Washington County High School, a member of Washington County 4-H Sharp Shooters and the Washington County FFA Chapter.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ralph Russell.
Survivors include his parents, Mark and Amy Russell Riley; a sister, Shelby Riley, all of Springfield; his maternal grandmother, June Russell of Jerseyville, Ill.; his paternal grandparents, Brent Riley of Springfield and Burbona Hood of Chaplin; and his paternal great-grandmother, Kathleen Freeman of Springfield.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the River of Life Church with Rev. Clay Stevens, pastor of the Springfield Presbyterian Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Troy Shelton, pastor of the River of Life Church.
Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers were members of the Washington County 4-H Sharp Shooters. Casket bearers were Craig Russell, Billy Russell, Randy Russell, Greg Heitzig, Brandon Riley and Matt Riley.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
