Billy Gene Curtsinger, age 72, of Louisville, passed away at 8:43 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Washington County, he was born on Oct. 18, 1940 to the late Benjamin Franklin and Amelia Frances Chesser Curtsinger.
He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, a member of the Preston Masonic Lodge #281 F. & A.M. in Louisville, an Army
veteran and a former employee of Fischer Packing Company.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Marvin, A.B., Herbert Wayne, R.C., Charles and Johnny Curtsinger; and one sister, Mattie Hill.
Survivors include his fiancée, Donna Brady; a daughter, Christy Carlin of Coral Springs, Fla.; four sons, Bradley Gene Curtsinger of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Clay Anthony Curtsinger (Jody) of South Carolina, Lee Kelley Curtsinger (Charissa) of Gainsville, Fla. and Clinton Dale Curtsinger of Deltona, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Eliza Jane Settles, Helen Cammack (James) and Bessie Yates (Kenneth), all of Willisburg, Nancy Campbell (Joe) and Betty McIntyre (James) of Louisville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Baker, officiating.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg where military rites were conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
A Masonic service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Billy Riggs, delivering the eulogy.
Serving as pallbearers were Timmy Hill, Jason Settles, Danny Yates, Jennifer Edelen, Clay Curtsinger and Johnathon Curtsinger.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
