Blondella "Bonnie" Varnell

A Bardstown resident, Blondella 'Bonnie' Varnell, age 60, passed away Saturday, Apr. 13, 2013 at her residence. She was the former Blondella Sallee, born on Aug. 1, 1952 in Springfield.
She was a former employee of Wee Care Day Care for 17 years, a member of New Salem Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and nursery worker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva Cornish Sallee; and two brothers, Thomas Wesley Sallee and Tony Sallee.
She is survived by her husband Edward Lloyd Varnell; her son, Clint (Virginia) Varnell of Bardstown; her daughters, Shawnee Gonzales of Amarillo, Texas, Sarah (Casey) Bryan of Bardstown, Johnye Wethington of Bloomfield, and Edwina Varnell of Louisville; three brothers, Bill Sallee of Oklahoma City, Okla., Ernie Sallee of Springfield, and Mark Sallee of Lindsey, Okla.; sisters, Peggy Curtsinger of Springfield, Mary Lanham of Elizabethtown, Ina Gribbons of Campbellsville, Annie Sallee of Bardstown and Eva 'Ree' Sallee of Springfield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Apr. 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Brother Jonathan Gann will officiate.
Family has requested that expressions of sympathy be made to New Salem Baptist Church.
Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
