Charles Dennis Pinkston, age 52, of Richmond, passed away at 9:50 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1961 in Lebanon, Ky. A 1979 graduate of Washington County High School, a 1988 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, a former employee of IBM and Lexmark and a retired employee of EKU. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church in Springfield where he served as an elder and was preceded in death by his father, Dalmon Pinkston on Nov. 11, 2012.
Survivors include, his mother, Geraldine Shewmaker Pinkston of Springfield; a brother, Nicky Pinkston (Kathleen) of Springfield and three nieces, Kathy Tucker (Kenneth), Kim Spalding (Jeremy) and Nicole Abell (Jamie) all of Lebanon; two great nephews and four great nieces.
Funeral services were held at 1p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clay Stevens, Pastor of the Springfield Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial was in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Mike Russell, Steve Shewmaker, Felix Reynods, Nelson Reynolds, David Clark, Ricky Clark, Doug Pinkston and Gordon Brandenburg.
Serving as pallbearers were, Jeremy Spalding, Kenneth Tucker, Jamie Abell, Robert McCool, William Smith and Paul Green.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
