Douglas Donald Pinkston, age 60, of Mackville, passed away at 9:56 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2014, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born in Harrodsburg, Ky., on June 14, 1953 to Donald and Norma Logsdon Pinkston. He was a member of the Mackville Christian Church where he served as a deacon, assistant Sunday School Superintendent and was a former Sunday school teacher. He was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation, a 1972 graduate of Washington County High School and an employee of Owens Trucking Company of Danville.
Preceding him in death was his father, Donald Pinkston on Feb. 13, 2012.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Lewis Pinkston; two sons, Matthew Pinkston and his wife, Anita of Springfield, Chad Pinkston of Danville; three grandchildren, Malachi Pinkston, Nathaniel Chapman and Alyssa Pinkston; his mother, Norma Pinkston of Mackville and a sister, Debbie Back and her husband, Dan of Lexington.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, at the Mackville Christian Church with Bro. Jim Cooper, a former minister of the Mackville Christian Church, officiating. He was assisted by Bro. Rylan Allen, the church minister.
Burial was in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Charlie Goatley, Jim Crouch, Kelly Coulter, Eddie Young, Everett Lee Russell, Glenn Arnold, Marty Hatchett, Dwight Simpson, Carl Gabhart and Terry Warner.
Casket bearers were Justin Reynolds, Cody Young, Aaron Moore, Kevin Russell, Jarrod Russell and Justin Hatchett.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
