Elbert Bishop

Elbert Bishop, age 84, of Lynch Road, Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at his home.
A native of Washington County, he was born on Sept. 25, 1929 to the late Hubert and Mattie Young Bishop. He was a member of the Open Arms Community Church and a retired employee of the General
Electric Company of Louisville.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Martha Washburn Bishop on Sept. 25, 2007; a sister, Mary Ada Russell and three brothers, Marshall Bishop, Leroy Bishop and Jack Bishop.
Survivors include, a son, Larry Bishop (Brenda) of Danville; a daughter, Karen Yeager (Bill) of Louisville; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren;
five great great grandchildren and four brothers, Reco Bishop (Lucille), Tex Bishop (Carolyn), Gerald Bishop (Linda) and Thomas Bishop (Linda) all of Springfield.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Open Arms Community Church with Rev. Phil Bishop, the church pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
