Elizabeth Catherine Brown Mudd, age 93, of East High Street, Springfield, passed away at 6:46 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
She was born at Mackville, Ky. on May 14, 1920 to the late Lester and Lula Casey Brown. Mrs. Mudd was a member of the Johnson Chapel AME Zion Church where she served with the missionary society and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Joe Paul Mudd on Nov. 22, 1998 and two sons, Joseph William Mudd, Aug. 24, 2009 and Donald Eugene Mudd, April 5, 2010.
Survivors include, a daughter, Shirley Catherine Walker (Edward); a son, Kenneth L. Mudd (Virginia) of Louisville; ten grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., (today), Wednesday, March 5 at the Johnson Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Michelle Washington, the church pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Lebanon National Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Paul Smith, Australia Poole, Joe Gene Walker, Christopher "Woo" Walker and Ron Cook.
Serving as casket bearers will be Dewayne Walker, Richard Mudd, Reggie Mudd, Steve Mudd, Sr., Lawrence Smith and Rich Smith, Sr.
