Frank A. Hardin Jr., age 82, of Mayes Creek Road, Springfield, passed away at 8:25 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 10, 2013 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center in Springfield.
A native of Washington County, he was born on June 1, 1930 to the late Frank A. Sr. and Myrtle Vivian Burkhead Hardin.
He was a member of the Thompsonville Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Lena Mae Milburn and Helen Moore; two brothers, William Martin Hardin and Richard Kenneth Hardin; and a nephew, Jeremy Dewayne Hardin.
Survivors include one brother, Joe Hardin and his wife, Patricia of Springfield; four sisters, Jean Carey of Springfield, Barbara Byrd of Willisburg, Jewell Hood and her husband, Namon of Springfield and Betty Mattingly and her husband, Terry of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Apr. 13 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Hazel, officiating.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Pattie McElvain, David Hardin, Bob Moore and Joey Byrd.
Casket bearers were Jamie Hardin, Brandon Hardin, Donald Burkhead, Anthony Laymance, Dennie Moore and Brad Smith.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
