Helen Arnold Sharp

Mrs. Helen Marie Taylor Arnold Sharp, age 80, of Mudd-Kelly Lane, Springfield, passed away at 10:45 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 at the home of her daughter as a result of a battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born in Casey County on June 21, 1933 to the late Jimmie Lee and Katie Margaret Murphy Taylor. She was a member of the Willisburg Christian Church. She owned and operated the Charm Beauty Shop during the 1950's and 60's and was a retired quality control inspector for GTE Sylvania.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Tommy Taylor.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Thompson, and her husband, James of Willisburg; one granddaughter, Bobbi-Lynn Thompson, and her husband, Clinton of Springfield; one grandson, Jim Wyland and his fiancée, Crystal Tincher of Willisburg; and one great granddaughter, Lexi Thompson of Springfield.
A celebration of life was officiated by Bro. Greg Bowen, minister of the Willisburg Christian Church on Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Hood, pastor of the Brush Grove Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Robert Arnold, Joe Mudd, Philip Coulter, John Settles, Bob Jones and Pat Spalding.
Casket bearers were Howard Martin Arnold, Bobby Arnold, Hal B. Goode, Brian Mattingly, Bobby Joe Mattingly and Ronnie Hood.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
