Imo Jane Bechanan Fox, age 80, of the Thompsonville Community of Washington County, was born on Sept. 5, 1933 and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Springfield.
She was a native of Hardin County and a member of the Brookhaven Baptist Mission in Lebanon, Ky. On Jan. 15, 1952 at the Youngers Creek Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, she was united in marriage to, James K. Fox. They graduated from the Clear Creek Bible College in Pineville, Ky. in 1971. Imo Jane faithfully served with her husband as he pastored several churches, including Cold Iron Baptist Mission in Salyersville, South Hampton Baptist Church in Owensboro, South Campbellsville Baptist Church, Saloma Baptist Church in Campbellsville, Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Willisburg and Brookhaven Baptist Mission in Lebanon.
Preceding her in death was her husband, James K. Fox, on Feb. 16, 2013; her parents, Lucien B. and Ruby Jane Nicholas Bechanan; four brothers, Elbert C., William B., Paul L. and James M. Bechanan; two sisters-in-law, Lois Bechanan and Ann Bechanan and a niece, Priscilla Bechanan.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy Darryl Fox of Springfield; a brother in-law, Charles (Dorothy) Fox and a sister-in-law, Anna S. Bechanan, all of Elizabethtown; four nephews, Doug Bechanan, Marlin Bechanan, Mike Bechanan and Kevin Fox; three nieces, Patricia Ahting, Karen Austin and Kimberly Wagner; four great nephews and two great nieces.
Mrs. Fox had chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Clay Stevens, pastor of the Springfield Presbyterian Church officiating.
A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Hardin Memorial Park in Elizabethtown with Bro. Ron Lewis officiating.
Visitation was Sunday afternoon at Carey & Son Funeral Home.
