James Edwin 'Jimmy' Thompson Jr., age 42, of Louisville, formerly of Springfield, died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at Hurstbourne Care Center in Louisville following a short illness.
Born Jan. 31, 1970 in Lebanon, he was a graduate of Washington County High School, attended St. Catharine College and Hales Corner Seminary in Milwaukee, Wis. for five years and had been a property manager for New Direction Corp. in Louisville.
He is survived by his parents, Edwin and Margaret Mary Spalding Thompson of Springfield; a brother, Shawn Michael Thompson of Lexington; two sisters, Rhonda (David) Riney of Springfield and Shannon (Mike) Tackett of Lexington; a niece, Nicole Riney; and three nephews, Addison Riney and Kirk and Clark Tackett.
Funeral Mass was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Jack Caldwell, Rev. Culpepper Elliott, Very Rev. Mark Spalding and Rev. John Lesousky officiating.Ê Burial was in St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers were JoeÊSmith, Addison Riney, Reed Spaulding, Doug Johnson, Terry Richardson and Edward Thompson.
ÊHonorary pallbearers were Tracey Johnson, Debbie Wakefield, Nicole Riney, Kirk Tackett, Clark Tackett, Frank and Jacob Fritts.
Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
