Julia Rebecca Parrott Wimsatt, age 84, of 323 W. Main St., Springfield, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in Nerinx where she had been a resident for the last 6 months.
Born Aug. 13, 1929 in Washington County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Buelah Keene Parrott and her husband, Thomas Henry Wimsatt, May 25, 2003. She was a homemaker, a former member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Manton and a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Springfield.
She is survived by a son, John (Sheila) Wimsatt of Springfield; five daughters, Becky Allison of Louisville, Malinda (Larry) Witt of Macon, Ga.; Mary Leo Wimsatt, Vicki (Steve) Mattingly and Janet (Terry) Purdom all of Springfield; two sisters, Bertha Belle Thompson of Nerinx and Mary Leo Mudd of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral mass was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath officiating. Burial was in St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons Brian, Thomas, and Seth Mattingly, Will Purdom, Neal and Simon Brown and Larry Wayne Witt.
