J.W. Phillips

J.W. Phillips, age 82, of Bardstown, passed away at 12 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Washing-ton County, he was born on June 15, 1931 to the late Hugh and Nora Miller Phillips. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, attended Texas School, an army veteran of the Korean War, a former employee of the Stockyard Farm and Dairy Supply Company of Louisville was the former owner of a Dairy Supply Company in Glasgow and an avid golfer.
Survivors include, his wife, Ina Mae Clark Phillips; three sisters, Daisy Coulter (Johnny) of Mt. Washington, Dorothy Tarter (Don) of Shepherdsville and Judy O'Keefe (John) of Florida; six brothers, Floyd Phillips (Geraldine), Kendall Phillips and Walton Phillips (Mary) all of Louisville, Harold Phillips (Sue) of Florida, High Allen Phillips (Becky) of Mt. Washington and Connie Lane Phillips (Peggy) of Salvisa and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Reynolds, pastor of the Deep Creek Baptist Church, officiating. Burial followed in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville, where military rites were conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers were Kendall Phillips, Walton Phillips, Jeff Phillips, Dewayne Bishop, Edgar Drake and Harold Bennett.
