Mary Frances Holderman, 91, of Springfield, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Bob & Helen Holderman in Springfield.
A native of Washington County, she was born on Nov. 10, 1922, to the late Richard and Christine Crain Holderman. She was active in her service to the Lord during her daily life and served as a Sunday school teacher. She served at Bethlehem Baptist Church many years and at New Hope Baptist Church, where she was a member. Mary Frances was a 1940 graduate of Springfield High School and a retired employee of the Telecom Company formerly of Lebanon.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Rev. Joseph Harold Holderman on May 31, 1992, and a brother-in-law, Marvin Weakley on April 11, 1994.
Survivors include, two brothers, Charles Wesley Holderman and his wife, Anna, Robert Morris "Bob" Holderman and his wife, Helen, and a sister, Elizabeth Ellen Weakley, all of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Betty Holderman of Elizabethtown; four nieces, one nephew, six great nieces and nephews and 11 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 26 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Johnnie Bailey, pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Holderman, Wesley Holderman, Brandon Crain, John Higdon, Mike Welch and Justin Simpkinson.
Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
