Mildred Early Noland died Oct. 3, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 88 years old. Formerly of Springfield, she had worked with the AVON Munitions as a statistician during World War II and eventually in the Springfield school system as a library aid, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. L.L. Noland; her parents, Edith and Frederick Early; her sister, Jean Early Gordon; and her two brothers Harold and Robert Early.
Survivors include her daughters, Marsha Osborne and her husband Gary; Phyllis Baker and husband Paul; her son, Steve Noland and his wife Debbie; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Jesse and John Peters, Logan, Amaya and Joshua Osborne, Paul and Matt Baker, Nathan and Travis Noland; great-granddaughters, Kelsey Crowe and Taylor Peters.
Mildred was cremated and interred with her husband at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. A memorial service was held at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville at 12 p.m. on Oct. 5, 2012.
