Mildred Logsdon Coyle, age 90, of Springfield, passed away at 1:50 p.m., Monday, Apr. 1, 2013 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
A native of Washington County, she was born on Nov. 21, 1922 to the late Mord and Mary Jo Noe Logsdon.
She was a member of the Springfield Christian Church, a graduate of Springfield High School and for 36 years she served as the secretary of the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation Service in the Springfield office.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Garnet Gray Coyle on Nov. 7, 1998; a brother, Carroll Logsdon on Aug. 14, 2004; and two sisters, Edith Goode on July 8, 2003 and Dola Blandford on Jan. 20, 2012.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Owen and her husband, Jackie of Lebanon; a son, Gary Coyle and his wife, Sue of Lexington; three grandchildren, Lynn Tencza (Jim), Katie Comstock (Kris) and Samuel Coyle (Ashley); five great-grandchildren, Zach, Jack and Nate Tencza, Cooper Comstock and Eliza Coyle; a sister, Geneva Carpenter; and a brother, Clyde Logsdon, both of Springfield.
Funeral services were held at noon, Wednesday, Apr. 3 at Carey & Son Funeral Home, with Bro. Sherwood Evans, former minister of Springfield Christian Church, officiating. He was assisted by Bro. Jesse Burns, the church minister and Bro. Robert E. Jones, a former minister.
Burial was in the Beech Grove Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Zack Tencza, Jack Tencza, Johnny Carpenter, Danny Carpenter, Joe Allen Carpenter and Doug Blandford.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
